2012 has started out a little rough. Health issues and some other challenges have made this year interesting.
I decided to select a word that I want to focus on and incorporate into my life. That word for 2012 is SIMPLIFY. Each time I think of doing something or purchase something I want to think of this word. Will it simplify my life or make it more complicated. When I think of the word Simplify I think of organization, easy, carefree, and less stress. Well I can dream can’t I?
I am volunteering again this year for Relay for Life. I am the Co-Chair for Survivors with one of my dearest, life long…and do I mean life long friend Shelley Hinatsu. (I have known her since we were babies and since I am five months older that means I have known her since the day she was born). I Relay for a lot of different reasons, the main reason is in Memory of my Dear, Sweet Mom who passed away from Cancer in 2006. I still miss here everyday. I also Relay for my Aunt Sandi – several friends and co-workers. Our local Relay for Life is June 23rd. We are planning a Dessert for Survivors and Care Givers on Saturday, April 14th at Gateway Presbyterian Church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Invitations will be going out but if you know of a survivor in The Dalles area pass along the word to them and have them contact me. We are looking for volunteers to help with this dessert so if you are interested or know someone who might be contact me.
Today is the first day of my new website, thanks to my sweetie Rick! Thank you Rick. I love it.
I just joined a Splitcoast blog titled: Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers #19. Blogging is new for me but it is so much fun. I just added a music playlist tonight, a weather update, a counter, and a traffic feed last night…fun, fun, fun! I am suppose to tell the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers about myself…stamper, mom, grandma, friend, sister, etc….love to stamp. Blogging is another favorite!
Here are some pictures of my White Dawn Rose Bush that I got in memory of my mom when she passed away in 2006. She was very fond of White flowers and said you should always have white flowers planted among your other colors. Her name was Dawn so this rose is in memory of her. I never had an interest in gardening but she loved it and turned my sister Karen into a gardener (after she told her that gardening was like decorating except you move or place plants around instead of furniture. My brother-in-law Brian now gets to relocate plants whenever my sister decides to rearrange the “furniture” (plants). Mom enjoyed Brian “thanking Mom for telling Karen that”! My “Godmother” Laurene, Mom’s best friend told me that I could keep this plant alive and she would help me, which she has. I bet Mom is smiling down enjoying the fact that I actually enjoy some of this gardening – especially watching her rose grow each year.
Happy Memorial Day – Mom, we are thinking of you (as always)…enjoy!
